My name is Seth Coughlin, and I’m a freelance journalist who writes about music, media, and culture, which are three things I’ve always loved. Music in particular is a lifelong passion of mine having been a musician in some of my formative years.

When I first got to College I didn’t have a great Idea of what college life would be like, I had found a passion for writing and the processing it allowed me to do after I had graduated High School in December of 2022. with no prior knowledge of Journalism and a drive to write I went to the one person at the time I knew could at least get me on the right track for my start to college. my schedule was filled with music classes and after seeing the facility’s of Drake University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication I knew if I were to be anywhere else I would be miserable, so I went to talk to my academic adviser with the goal of getting into as many journalism classes as I could.

after getting enrolled in most of my intro classes I asked where I could find some live music around campus and he referred me to one of the professors I would be taking Reporting and Writing Principles with.

The next week classes started and I was the only first-year student in that reporting class, because of this my professor dubbed me Seth the Younger, a nickname that I would carry with me through my first year of college which is where this site gets its name. With my back against a wall and nothing to lose I’m testing the waters once again
